Valerie S. Phillips

Valerie S. Phillips (Leal), MPH, CHES®, currently serves as the Suicide Prevention and Youth Education Specialist at Panhandle Health District, managing initiatives focused on suicide prevention and youth education on health-related topics. Prior experience includes roles as a Community Health Promotion Specialist at the County of San Diego, where responsibilities involved developing public health education programs for diverse communities, and as Program Coordinator for the MD/MPH Capstone Program at the University of Miami, engaging various stakeholders to enhance program placements. Valerie's earlier positions at California State University, Northridge, included roles in student and alumni engagement, alongside serving as a chief of staff and master of public health intern. Valerie holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Applied Fitness, both from California State University, Northridge.
