Daniel Tondera has worked in the field of biology since 1999. Daniel's work experience includes roles such as Intern (full time), Student Research Assistant (part time), Diploma Student (industrial placement), PhD Student (industrial placement), Postdoctoral Fellow, Senior Project Validation Scientist, Group Leader, and most recently, Head of Biology. From 1999 to 2013, they worked for Silence Therapeutics plc in various roles. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Project Validation Scientist for Cancer Research Technology Ltd. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Group Leader for Cenix BioScience GmbH. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Harvard Medical School. From 2005 to 2008, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Geneva. Since 2019, they have been working as Head of Biology for Pantherna Therapeutics GmbH.

Daniel Tondera received their A-Levels (German High School Diploma) from Schillergymnasium Offenburg in 1994. Daniel then went on to earn a Diploma in Biochemistry from the University of Potsdam in 2001, after completing an ERASMUS exchange program in Medical Biochemistry at Newcastle University in 1999. In 2004, they completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Potsdam.
