Arjan van der Velde, Ph.D.

Arjan van der Velde, Ph.D. has held various positions in the technology and bioinformatics industries. In 2006, they worked as an Oracle DBA at Getronics PinkRoccade. In 2007, they moved to Snow as a UNIX Engineer. In 2009, they took on a Graduate role at Thales and in 2010 they worked as an Intern at VU University Amsterdam, FEW/IBIVU. Arjan also held a role as an ORISE research fellow at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in 2011. From 2012 to 2019, they were a PhD Candidate (Boston University) at UMass Medical School. In 2021, they began working as a Software Engineer at Watershed Informatics and in 2022 they took on a role as a Sr. Customer Solutions Architect at Paradigm4.

Arjan van der Velde, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics from Boston University between 2012 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned an MSc in Bioinformatics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) between 2009 and 2012. Arjan also obtained a BICT in Computer Science (Embedded Systems) from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences between 2006 and 2009.
