Adam Hengels has a long and varied career in the real estate and engineering industries. Adam began their career in 1995 as an Electrical Engineering Designer at Environmental Systems Design, Inc. Adam then worked as a Structural Engineering Intern at Rubinos & Mesia Engineers in 1998, and as a Project Structural Engineer at Globetrotters Engineering Corp in 1999. In 2001, they worked as a Project Structural Engineer at STV and as an Adjunct Instructor - Introduction to Engineering Design at Richard J Daley College. From 2007 to 2014, they worked as a Real Estate Development at Forest City Ratner Companies. In 2015, they were Managing Director of Real Estate Development at H.ME INC. From 2014 to 2017, they were SVP | Director of Development at PAD Urban Communities. Since 2017, they have been Founder of The Center for Market Urbanism and Co-Founder of Parafin, where they work with artificial intelligence to generate building concepts, budgets, and financial models for real estate development opportunities.

Adam Hengels began their educational journey in 1993, when they attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to study Architecture. Adam then transferred to the University of Illinois Chicago in 1995, where they earned a BS in Civil Engineering in 1999. Adam subsequently obtained a Professional Engineer - Civil certification from the State of California in June 2003. In 2004, Adam attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned a Masters of Science Real Estate Development in 2005, with a focus on Real Estate Finance and Development.
