Robert East

Robert was appointed as independent, non-executive Chair of the Board on 1 September 2022. He is also Chair of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Remuneration and the Risk and Compliance Committees. Robert has over 40 years' experience in UK financial services, including at board level, as CEO and Chair. During his executive career he held senior roles at Barclays. He was also CEO of Cattles, where he led the restructuring and wind down of its operations from 2010 to 2016. He has held positions as Chair of Vanquis Bank, Skipton Building Society and Hampshire Trust Bank. He has previously served as a non-executive director on the Boards of Provident Financial Group, Skipton and Hampshire Trust Bank, where he was also Chair of the Risk Committee. Robert has strong retail and commercial banking expertise, detailed knowledge of the financial services sector and leadership expertise in transformational change. Robert is currently a director of RCWJ Limited.
