Karim Mawji has an extensive work experience spanning from 1993 to 2021. Karim started their career as a Staff Accountant at Deloitte & Touche in 1993, and then became a Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions / Restructurings in 1996. In 1999, Karim moved to Morgan Stanley where they served as an Equity Research Associate. In 2002, they became an Equity Analyst at Healy Circle Capital. In 2004, they were promoted to Vice President & Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley. In 2006, they joined Scout Capital Management, L.L.C. as an Investment Analyst, Special Situations. Karim then moved to Perennial Investors in 2007 as a Portfolio Manager / Analyst. In 2009, they founded and became the Managing Partner of Dentonia Park Capital Management, a family office that typically invests in highly scalable early to mid-stage private companies. In 2017, Karim founded Paragon Intel, a fintech alternative data analytics startup, and served as Co-CEO, Head of Research, and Board Member until 2020. In 2021, Karim founded Eagle Talon Partners and currently serves as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer.
Karim Mawji obtained their High School Diploma from Crescent School. Karim then went on to attend Western University, where they earned a BA in History in 1990. In 1993, they completed their MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. In 2001, they became a CFA charterholder from the CFA Institute, and they also received their Chartered Accountant (Canada) designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
