In 2004, they were promoted to Vice President & Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley. In 2006, they joined Scout Capital Management, L.L.C. as an Investment Analyst, Special Situations. Karim then moved to Perennial Investors in 2007 as a Portfolio Manager / Analyst. In 2009, they founded and became the Managing Partner of Dentonia Park Capital Management, a family office that typically invests in highly scalable early to mid-stage private companies. In 2017, Karim founded Paragon Intel, a fintech alternative data analytics startup, and served as Co-CEO, Head of Research, and Board Member until 2020. In 2021, Karim founded Eagle Talon Partners and currently serves as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer.
Karim Mawji obtained their High School Diploma from Crescent School. Karim then went on to attend Western University, where they earned a BA in History in 1990. In 1993, they completed their MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. In 2001, they became a CFA charterholder from the CFA Institute, and they also received their Chartered Accountant (Canada) designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
