Robert Tanner

Executive Director of Aerospace Partnerships at Parallax Advanced Research

Robert Tanner's work experience begins in 1986 at Battelle, where they served as a Principal Subcontracts Representative. In this role, they were responsible for negotiating and administering complex multi-year government, industrial, and university subcontracts. Robert also served as the interim subcontracts manager, dealing with contract issues and disputes.

In 1991, Tanner joined the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) as the Chief Counsel and Senior Director of Legal Services. Robert held this position until 1999.

From 1999 to 2010, Tanner worked at the Columbus Regional Airport Authority as the General Counsel and Vice President of Governmental Affairs.

Starting in 2010, they joined NetJets as the VP Corporate & Government Affairs, Assoc. General Counsel. In this role, Tanner represented the company on legislative and regulatory affairs and developed government affairs strategies at all levels of government. Robert also developed strong relationships with members of Congress, Executive Branch officials, and State elected officials.

In 2019, Tanner moved to Parallax Advanced Research, where they first served as the Executive Director, Ohio Federal Research Network (OFRN). Robert'sresponsibilities included building collaborations and partnerships between universities and industries to meet the research requirements of Ohio's Federal Laboratories/Installations.

Later, they became the Executive Director of Aerospace Partnerships at Parallax Advanced Research in November 2021.

Throughout their career, Tanner has gained expertise in government contracts, cost accounting standards, intellectual property rights, and nondisclosure agreements. Robert'swork experience reflects a strong background in legal affairs, government relations, and research collaboration.

Robert Tanner attended The Ohio State University from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice/Business. Following this, they pursued further education at Capital University Law School, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a specialization in Corporate Law.
