David Schmid

David Schmid is an experienced trader with a background in commodity derivatives and options trading. Currently serving as a Trader at Parallax Volatility Advisers, LP since July 2021, David previously held the position of Commodity Derivatives Trader at North Trading Company from November 2017 to June 2021, where responsibilities included managing a multi-strategy crude oil and products derivative portfolio. Prior to that, David worked as a Managing Director at Citi from December 2004 to June 2017, focusing on commodity options trading and electronic market making. Earlier in their career, David was a Trader at Knight Financial Products from June 2001 to December 2004, specializing in equity option market making and equity index trading. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, earned between 1997 and 2001, and is an alumnus of Phoenix Country Day School.
