Julie Howell

Julie Howell is an experienced professional in veteran advocacy and policy, currently serving as the Associate Legislative Director at Paralyzed Veterans of America since September 2021. Prior roles include Veteran Program Coordinator at the University of California, Santa Cruz from August 2019 to September 2021, and a Congressional intern for Congressman Jimmy Panetta in 2019. Julie has demonstrated research capabilities through work at UCSC, focusing on policies for veteran transfer students, and as a Policy and Research intern with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, where opinion pieces on veteran issues were published. Julie holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Mills College and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, alongside earlier degrees in Anthropology and Culinary Arts.
