Afonso Salcedo

Afonso Salcedo is a skilled compositor currently working at Paramount Animation since April 2025, contributing creatively to the project The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender. With extensive experience as a photographer since February 2014, Afonso Salcedo specializes in in-studio portrait and documentary photography, aiming to capture natural and impressive images. Previously, Afonso served as a Lighting and Compositing Artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios from April 2019 to October 2024, where responsibilities included enhancing the visual storytelling of Moana and establishing lighting fundamentals for various animated sequences. Afonso also held the position of Senior Lighting Artist at Method Studios for a brief period in late 2019, focusing on photorealistic lighting for cinematics in collaboration with Amazon Games. Afonso Salcedo holds an MSc in Computer Science from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Southampton.
