Kai Chen has a diverse range of work experience spanning different industries and roles. In 2012, they served as the Director of Product at Ark.com. In 2013, they founded both PeerLibrary and The Open Access Initiative at Berkeley, and also worked as a Researcher at UC Berkeley School of Information. Beginning in 2014, Kai took on the role of Lecturer at UC Berkeley, teaching courses on computing and the politics of digital piracy. In 2017, they joined Postmates Inc. as a Software Engineer. From 2019 to 2022, Kai worked at Meta in their Reality Labs division. Currently, they are the Founder and CEO of Parasol, a position they have held since May 2022.
