Michael Doherty

Michael Doherty is an accomplished professional in the energy sector, currently serving as the Director of Structured Solutions & Origination at Paratus Group of Companies since May 2025, where the focus is on creating effective risk management solutions for energy market partners. Prior to this role, Michael worked at Low Carbon as a Senior Power Originator from August 2022 to May 2025, and at Centrica-Energy Marketing & Trading in various positions including UK PPA Originator and Gas Originator from June 2010 to August 2022, where significant contributions included managing renewable projects and gas trading operations. Michael's extensive background also encompasses leadership roles in generation planning at Centrica and gas trading management at Phoenix Natural Gas Ltd, as well as foundational experiences in investment analysis and market risk at Granville Baird and Lloyd's of London. Michael holds a BSc in Finance from Queen's University of Belfast and an MSc in International Securities, Investments & Banking from the ISMA Centre at the University of Reading.
