Robert Desmarais

Robert Desmarais is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Managing Engineer at Pare Corporation since February 2023. As Director of Public Works for the City of Amesbury since April 2008, Robert manages an $80 million portfolio of infrastructure and building projects, oversees a $10 million annual operating budget, and leads a team of over 30 employees, including responsibility as the Owner's Project Manager for a $15 million Water Treatment Plant Upgrade. Previously, Robert held the position of Town Engineer for the Town of Amesbury from October 1998 to April 2008, focusing on project design and management for various public initiatives. Robert's career began as a Project Engineer at Port Engineering, where involvement included land development and septic system design. Educational accomplishments include a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering and History from Merrimack College.
