Parenting Place
Established in 1993, Parenting Place is a non-profit organisation – a charity with a heart for families across Aotearoa. Our vision is for all parents and caregivers to feel confident and for every child to feel more deeply loved. We journey with parents from the time their pēpē are born, right through to adulthood, supporting them through key transitions and tricky seasons - as well as the highs and lows of everyday family life. We believe that healthy, loving families can transform society. We equip parents with practical, relatable parenting advice and strategies through: 📍 Untangling Anxiety: Supporting kids through worry and fear – an online, self-guided course for parents. 📍 One-on-one parent coaching, available online, or in-person for Auckland families. 📍 Parenting talks in schools, kindergartens and ECEs, community centres and workplaces across New Zealand. 📍 A wealth of timely, relevant online resources and articles. 📍 Media interviews across radio, television, print, podcasts and digital channels. Parenting Place also creates content for parenting courses facilitated by community partners, including: 📍 Space: for you and your baby: a 20-40 week course to support parents in the first year of their child's life. 📍 Toolbox Preschool Years, Toolbox Primary Years and Toolbox Teenage Years: a six-week age+stage specific parenting course covering the practical, emotional and relational aspects of parent life including: love and connection, understanding yourself as a parent, understanding our children and the world they live in. 📍 Building Awesome Whānau: a six-to-eight week course which draws from mātauranga Māori and the latest research to support whānau in a uniquely Aotearoa context.
