Sami Ahmad

Sami Ahmad has a diverse work experience spanning more than three decades. Sami began their career as a Database Administrator at Gouden Gids in 1989, where they worked with DEC platforms. Sami then transitioned to Motorola Mobility in 2005, where they served as a Senior Database Administrator, managing databases and replication environments. In 2007, Sami joined the Florida Department of Transport as a Senior Database Administrator, responsible for managing Oracle and MS SQL databases and implementing new features. Alongside their job at FDOT, they also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, teaching computer science subjects to undergraduate students. Sami joined Bank United in 2019 as a Database Administrator and is currently working there. Sami will be starting a new role as the Lead Data Architect at Park National Bank in November 2022.

Sami Ahmad has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Sami also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from Middle East Technical University. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in HDPCA from Hortonworks and Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate from Oracle.
