Alyssa Acuña

Alyssa Acuña has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Alyssa currently holds the position of Associate Director of Student Engagement and Inclusion at Park University, where they are responsible for managing all aspects of student engagement and DEI programming. Prior to this, Alyssa worked as the Owner & Brand Developer of The Social Butterfly. Alyssa also served as a Student Development Specialist at Johnson County Community College from 2021 to 2023. Earlier in their career, Alyssa held positions as a Venue Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager at Chateau Avalon Hotel Spa and Bar. Alyssa also worked as a Student Life Engagement Ambassador at Johnson County Community College and as a Dress Specialist at David's Bridal. Alyssa's experience spans across various roles within the education, hospitality, and retail sectors.

Alyssa Acuña holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Communication & Leadership from Park University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management and Leadership in Business from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2022. In 2020, they completed an Associate's degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson County Community College. Alyssa has also obtained various certifications, including DEI Training from Johnson County Community College in 2022 and Critical Thinking for More Effective Communication from LinkedIn in 2022. Alyssa has actively engaged in leadership development programs and workshops, such as the Cavalier Leadership Development Program at Johnson County Community College in 2019 and serving as a teaching assistant in the same program in 2020. Additionally, Alyssa has attended the Living as a Leader Workshop and Your Leadership Edge Conference in 2023. Alyssa is also affiliated with the Kansas City Professional Development Council.
