First-year officers start at $74,550 after completing the Police Training Officer (PTO) program and $71,000 during PTO. The Town pays for the police academy for sponsored recruits and earns a salary of $52,000 while in the academy. Additionally, patrol officers work four 10-hour shifts and are offered a defined pension plan through the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA). The Parker Police Department is a mid-size agency (77 sworn officers) with an impressive list of special assignments available for officers.
