Tom Shanmugan

Tom Shanmugan is an experienced educator and professional with a diverse background. Currently serving as a Teacher at Massapequa High School since November 2022, Tom provides person-centered support to 9th grade students in reading, writing, and social development, while also collaborating with administration on extracurricular activities. With a long-standing role as a Company Representative at Parking Systems since June 2015, Tom specializes in customer service, payment processing, and marketing services. Previous service in the US Army includes leadership as a Soldier during active duty from March to August 2020, and a role as Combat Service Support Specialist from August 2017 to August 2020. Tom holds a Master of Arts in Developmental Disabilities from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Arts in Education, along with a Bachelor's degree in History from the State University of New York at Old Westbury.
