Kirsten Drake, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, OCN has an extensive work history in the nursing field. Kirsten began their career at JPS Health Network in 1995, working in nursing administration until 2001. Kirsten then moved to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, where they served as an Oncology Manager until 2007. From 2007 to 2022, Kirsten worked at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth as the Director of Nursing. In 2017, they joined The University of Texas at Arlington as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In 2022, Kirsten became the Chief Nursing Officer at Millwood Hospital. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Nursing at Parkland Health.
Kirsten Drake holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Texas Christian University, completed from 2012 to 2015. Prior to their doctoral studies, they earned a Master's degree in Nursing Science from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1993 and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Baylor University in 1988. Kirsten also has certifications as a Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, obtained in 2005, and as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) from the Oncology Nursing Society, obtained in 2004. Kirsten has recently completed a HSP Course (Researchers) from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, in November 2020. Kirsten has also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from Texas Health Resources, although specific details regarding its completion are not provided.
