Aileen Wagner

Aileen has lived on a ranch in the Keephills area of Parkland County with her husband, Darrell for 34 years. Here they raised their two children, both, who are graduates from Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain.

Aileen comes to the Board with a strong background in education, having worked twenty-nine years as a teacher, coach, principal, Inclusive Education Lead, and mental health support person. Her career consisted of time at Paul First Nation School and then Parkland School Division where she spent most of her time in the west end rural schools. As a principal here she set up innovative learning experiences to enhance student learning in small community school settings.

A lot has changed in education over the last three decades, and Aileen’s passion for supporting a solid educational system is rooted in the belief that all kids have abilities and deserve the opportunity to demonstrate their strengths, as well as conquer their challenges. Growth and learning thrive when students feel connected, respected and confident in their learning communities. As Trustee, Aileen is committed to building relationships with all stakeholders based on clear communication, collaboration and respect.
