Karen Respess has over 26 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Karen began their career at Erlanger Health System in 1993, working as a Nurse Manager in the Perianesthesia Services department for seven years. In 2000, they moved to Memorial Hospital, where they served as the Clinical Coordinator for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit for nine years. In 2009, they joined Parkridge Medical Center as the Market Manager for Clinical Performance before transitioning to the role of Market Director for Quality Standards in 2011.

Karen Respess obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis in the period between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, from 1980 to 1982, they attended the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing with a focus on Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, although no degree name was provided.
