Sophia McKee is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marketing, communications, and event management. Currently serving as the Regional Parks Attractions and Events Manager at Metro Parks Tacoma since October 2017, Sophia oversees notable locations such as Point Defiance Marina and Fort Nisqually Living History Museum while strategically developing the Regional Parks Enterprise Fund. As a Business Owner and Marketing and Communications Manager at Rainier Reindeer Ranch since October 2018, Sophia provides unique holiday services across Western Washington. Additionally, Sophia owns Adventures In Seattle, a travel company founded in 2017 that offers guided outdoor experiences. Parks Tacoma
Created by voters in 1907, Parks Tacoma is an independent agency that provides parks, recreation and zoological services for people in the Tacoma, Browns Point and Dash Point areas. Governed by an elected five-member Board of Park Commissioners, Parks Tacoma maintains and cares for 69 parks and attractions, including Point Defiance Park with its Zoo and Aquarium, Boathouse Marina, and Fort Nisqually; Northwest Trek Wildlife Park near Eatonville; W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory; Meadow Park Golf Course; and Ruston Way waterfront parks.
