Prior to this, they worked as a Visiting Professor at DeVry University and as the Director of Revenue Cycle and HIM/Privacy Officer at Morton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. Christine (Christy) began their education at Concordia College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish/Secondary Education in 1996. Following this, in 2001, they completed a certificate program in Medical Transcription at Andrews School.

In 2012, Christy furthered their education by earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology from Indian Hills Community College. With a growing interest in health informatics, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics and Information Management from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, which they completed in 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Christine has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2009, they became a Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT), which later transitioned to a Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist (CHDS) through the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). In 2012, they achieved the prestigious designation of Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI-F).

Furthermore, Christine became a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA®) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in 2016. Christine (Christy) also holds the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS®) credential and is a Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) professional, both obtained in 2015.
