Monica Fathallah

Monica Fathallah has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Monica began their career in 2006 as a Recreation Therapy Student at The Royal Mental Health Centre. Monica then worked as a Community Development Student at Ottawa Salus in 2010 and as a Case Management Student at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ottawa Branch in 2011.

In 2011, Monica joined the Department of National Defence as an Intake Officer in the Ombudsman's office, where they handled complaints within the Canadian Forces and provided support to CF members. Monica transitioned to the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as an Educational Assistant in 2016, working directly with students with special needs and assisting with behavior management programs.

Monica's experience in the political sector began in 2016 when they joined the Parliament of Canada as a Caseworker in the Community Office of the Hon. Catherine McKenna. In this role, they managed constituency casework and developed a strong understanding of immigration policies and other federal policies. Monica then progressed to the role of Community Office Director, where they led the Community and Hill Offices and oversaw the advancement of Ottawa Centre priorities.

During their time at the Parliament of Canada, Monica also worked as an Intake Coordinator at Bytowne Homecare Services, conducting in-home assessments and developing care plans for clients. Monica also worked as a Residential Support Worker at Partners in Parenting Inc., where they supported individuals with cognitive impairment and developmental disabilities, and at Innovative Community Support Services, where they worked with seniors with developmental disabilities.

Monica Fathallah received their Bachelor of Social Work degree from Carleton University from the years 2007 to 2012. In January 2017, they obtained their certification as a Registered Social Worker from the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
