Monica Ramirez-Montagut has a rich and diverse work experience in the art industry. Monica is currently the Director at the Parrish Art Museum as of June 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Museum Director at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University from July 2020 to June 2022. From August 2014 to June 2020, Ramirez-Montagut worked as the Museum Director at the Newcomb Art Museum of Tulane University. In 2013, they held the role of Associate Director & Senior Curator at MACLA (Movimiento Arte Y Cultura Latino Americana). Monica also served as the Senior Curator at the San Jose Museum of Art from June 2012 to March 2013. Ramirez-Montagut's career includes experience as a Curator at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum from August 2008 to May 2012, Assistant Curator of Architecture and Design at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in NYC from 2005 to 2008, and Curator of Collections and Public Programs at the Price Tower Arts Center in Oklahoma from 2004 to 2005.

Monica Ramirez-Montagut pursued their education in the field of architecture, art, and theory art and architecture. Monica completed their undergraduate degree in Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, from 1990 to 1995. Following that, they enrolled at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they obtained a Master's degree in Theory Art and Architecture from 1995 to 1996. Monica then continued their studies at the same institution and earned a Doctorate degree in Theory Art and Architecture from 1997 to 2003.
