Principal Embedded Systems Engineer at Parsyl

Sydney Alamy has over 13 years of experience in the engineering field. Sydney began their career in 2004 as an Electrical Engineering Co-op at VT Miltope, where they worked with customers to establish functional requirements, developed tests to determine high level hardware specifications necessary to meet these requirements, and worked with a team of engineers to develop products based on these hardware specifications. Sydney also did industry studies to determine how their systems compared to those of competitors and to investigate their options for improving their products to gain competitive advantage, as well as performed board- and system-level troubleshooting. In 2007, they transitioned to a full-time Electrical Engineer role at VT Miltope, where they worked on a small team of engineers through all phases of the development of rugged MIL-STD compliant laptop computers and aviation electronics systems, from requirements specification through post-production sustainment. Sydney also worked closely with board design engineers on the specification and design of Intel x86-based motherboards, including schematic definition for the embedded controller and related hardware, firmware design, implementation, and validation, BIOS specification and validation, schematic review, motherboard bring-up, and code-, board-, and system-level functional validation.

In 2014, Sydney Alamy moved to ZOLL as a Firmware Engineer. Sydney then moved to ParkiFi in 2015, where they held the role of Firmware Engineer. In 2017, they joined Parsyl as a Principal Embedded Systems Engineer and Lead Firmware Engineer, where they are currently employed.

Sydney Alamy attended Auburn University from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEE) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
