Morten Ø. Andersen

Advisor at Particle3D

Morten Ø. Andersen is an advisor at Particle3D and a visiting research fellow at The University of Western Australia. Morten has also been an associate professor at University of Southern Denmark from January 2014 to August 2021. There, they established and led a research laboratory and a research group that focused on biomaterials and biotechnology. Morten's group did research on drug discovery, drug development, implants, medical devices, 3D printing, stem cells and microbiology. They published multiple scientific articles, patented several inventions and received a lot of competitive research grants. Morten also taught several courses including "biomedical materials", "microbiology and biochemistry", "advanced biotechnology", "biomedical engineering" and "experts in teams" and they supervised over 30 BSc, MSc and PhD students. In 2019, they received SDU's Innovation prize for their work on translating our research into commercial startups. They managed to spin-out their inventions into two startups Particle3D and Bioomix that both went on to enter competitive accelerators and raise significant investments.

Morten Ø. Andersen has a PhD in Molecular Biology and Nanoscience from Aarhus University. Morten also spent a semester abroad studying Life Sciences at The University of Manchester. Morten's undergraduate degree is in Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Aarhus University.
