Beth Dotson Brown

Beth Dotson Brown has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Beth has been a Project Director at Partners for Rural Impact since 2022. Before that, they worked as a Project Director and Associate Director of Communications and Collaboration at Berea College Partners for Education from 2014 to 2022. At Berea College Promise Neighborhood, they served as an Artist-in-Residence from 2012 to 2014. As a Freelance Writer and Editor at Beth Dotson Brown Writing and Editing, they worked from 1991 to 2014, specializing in feature writing, editing, and communications consulting.

Prior to that, they held the role of Communications & Grants Director at The Nest--Center for Women, Children & Families from 2010 to 2012. Beth also worked as a Board Member at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference from 2010 to 2016. Beth has experience as a Communications Director at Forward in the Fifth from 1992 to 2006. Early in their career, they were a Volunteer Case Worker at Christian Appalachian Project in 1990 and held various roles, including Staff Writer and New Publications Assistant, at Catholic Relief Services from 1986 to 1990. Beth began their career as an Assistant Editor at Gralla Publications in 1985.

From 1980 to 1984, Beth Dotson Brown attended Ball State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Magazine Journalism. Beth'sstudies also included Sociology and Humanities. In 2021, they obtained a certification in Results-Based Accountability from Clear Impact, LLC.
