Edward Kommwa

Edward Kommwa currently serves as the Director of Clinical Education, Quality Improvement, and Patient Safety at Partners In Health, a position held since March 2021. Prior to this role, Edward was a Lecturer at the University of Malawi, College of Medicine, from June 2014 to March 2021, focusing on teaching and supervising Obstetrics and Gynecology residents as well as medical students and clinical officers. Edward's earlier experience includes working as an Occupational Health Physician at Mota-Engil, where responsibilities included assessing new recruits and conducting health checks. Edward began medical practice as a Medical Doctor with the Ministry of Health and Population-Malawi, providing inpatient and outpatient care, and completed an internship with the Ministry of Health Malawi, gaining experience across various medical specialties. Edward holds a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Malawi, along with a University Certificate in HIV Clinical Management from the University of Washington and an MBBS degree from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine.
