Casey was born in and raised in northeast Pasadena. His father worked in the petrochemical industry and his mom stayed home to raise him, his twin brother, two older brothers and an older sister. Casey attended McMasters Elementary, Sparks Elementary, San Jacinto Intermediate and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1992. Casey enlisted in the US Marines out of high school and served honorably for 6 years. Upon returning to Pasadena Casey immediately began the process to become a Pasadena Police Officer and graduated from the 49th Basic Academy in March of 1999. In his almost 22 years of service to the citizen’s and City of Pasadena, Casey has served in various uniformed divisions within the department as well as investigative units. Casey is most proud of the 8 years of work he participated in while assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division investigating juvenile related crimes. He’s attended a myriad of courses and trainings related to assault, theft, abuse, runaway, abduction, and sexual assault. Casey then spent the last 6 years of service as a canine officer before returning to the Criminal Investigations Division assigned to the Family Violence Unit. Casey also serves as a crisis negotiator for the department’s Crisis Negotiations Team. Casey holds a Master Peace Officer’s certification and serves voluntarily for the City of Pasadena’s federal credit union where he and a cross section of city employees review loans.
