Derek Read

Derek Read serves as the CTE Director and Dean of Workforce Education at Pascagoula-Gautier School District since July 2021, following a diverse career within the same district that began in July 2001, encompassing roles such as Dean of Workforce Development and Adult Education, Career Academy Specialist/CTE Counselor, and Drafting Instructor. Prior experience includes working as a Quality Engineer and Multimedia Specialist at Northrop Grumman Corporation from August 1989 to May 2002. Derek's educational background includes an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from William Carey University, a Master's in Educational Counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Bachelor's in Business and Communication from the University of Mobile, and an Associate's degree in CAD/CADD Drafting from MGCCC. Throughout the career, emphasis has been placed on student recruitment, program marketing, and developing partnerships with businesses and colleges to enhance workforce education.
