Shane de Jager

Shane de Jager has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles.

Shane started their career at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, where they worked as a Student Assistant from 2001 to 2004.

In 2005, they joined Intergage Ltd as a Technical Developer and later became a Senior Technical Developer. Their responsibilities included maintaining the CMS and managing the company's IT infrastructure.

In 2012, Shane worked as a Web Developer at RLA Group and later transitioned to a Digital Developer role at The Emerge Group. In this position, they were responsible for implementing web and digital development projects, creating structured and reusable code, and solving technical problems.

From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Senior Developer at both Kolab Digital and Ferrier Pearce Creative Group, where they continued to showcase their technical expertise.

Shane joined Createful in 2015 as a Senior Developer, contributing to the company's projects until 2018.

Since 2018, they have been employed at Passenger, initially as a Senior Software Engineer, then as a Lead Engineer (Commerce), and currently as a Senior Software Engineer.

Shane de Jager pursued their education with a focus on Computer Science. Shane began their academic journey at Port Rex Technical High School, where they completed their secondary education from 1996 to 2000. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Port Elizabeth in 2001 and graduated in 2004 with a BSc Degree in Computer Science. Shane then furthered their studies at Nelson Mandela University, where they obtained an Honours Degree in Computer Science from 2004 to 2005.
