Sanford M. Melzer

Sanford “Sandy” Melzer MD, MBA is the Executive Vice President for Networks and Population Health at Seattle Children’s, one of the top ranked children’s hospitals and pediatric research programs in the US. A pediatric hospital medicine specialist and physician executive with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Melzer is responsible for Seattle Children’s regional, national and international strategic planning, business development and partnerships. Dr. Melzer also leads Seattle Children’s work in transforming its clinical and business models in response to health care reform and is recognized as a national leader in pediatric population health and new business models. Dr. Melzer is a Professor of Pediatrics and Health Services at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and recently served as the Principal Investigator of a $6 million Federal CMS Innovation Grant piloting high value models of care for disabled children.

Dr. Melzer’s community activities include current service on the Boards of the Pacific Science Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. He is also the past Board Chair of Seattle’s Jewish Family Service and served on the Board of the Washington & Alaska Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
