Bethany Kent

Bethany Kent serves as the Scientific Director of Microbiology and Immunology at PathGroup since December 2015, following roles as Microbiology Lab Manager and Microbiology Lab Supervisor. Prior experience includes a position as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Centennial Medical Center and adjunct professorships at Volunteer State Community College and Austin Peay State University, where teaching focused on medical lab technology and microbiology. Earlier research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University, investigating the evolution of bacteriophages, and a graduate research assistantship at the University of Missouri, studying mobile genetic elements in ruminant Mycoplasma. Bethany Kent holds a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Austin Peay State University, and a BA in Biology from Drury University.
