Kathy Wheeler

Kathy Wheeler serves as the Quality Assurance Operations Director at PathGroup since August 2021, where responsibilities include overseeing the Corporate Quality & Safety Program across 59 CLIA sites and leading policy development and implementation. Previously, from September 2015 to August 2021, Kathy held the position of Director of Quality and Compliance at Detroit Medical Center, managing a Quality/Compliance Program for a laboratory system with 12 CLIA licenses across 9 sites. Earlier experience includes a long tenure at the American Red Cross starting in January 2001, where Kathy advanced through various director roles, managing quality assurance staff and hosting external inspections. Kathy's career began as a Laboratory Technologist specializing in blood banking at St. Louis University Hospital and the University of Toledo Medical Center. Kathy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The University of Toledo and completed a specialty in Blood Banking at Barnes Hospital.
