Dr. Gachau has worked in the medical field since 2005. Albert Giitwa Dr. began their career as a Pathologist at the Ministry of Health in Kenya. In 2007, they joined Kenyatta University as a Lecturer, where they were involved in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in Clinical Pathology and Public Health. Their research interests include cancer prevention and mortality audits among hospitalized patients. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Resident Consultant-Pathologist at Meridian Equator Hospital. Albert Giitwa Dr. then moved to Pathologists Lancet Kenya (PLK) as a Consultant Pathologist.
Albert Gachau completed their secondary education at Kagumo High School in 1990. Albert Giitwa Dr. then attended the University of Nairobi, where they earned a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MB;ChB-1999) and a Master of Medicine MMed-Pathology (2005). Albert Giitwa Dr. also holds a FCPath (ECSA) from the College of Pathologists of East Central and Southern Africa in Pathology (AP/CP).
