Brittany Backs

Brittany Backs has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Brittany started their career as a Student Nurse at BJC HealthCare in 2018. During their time there, they completed clinical hours in various departments, including the ER, Medical/Surgical floor, Orthopedic floor, and Telemetry floor at Mercy Washington, Mercy South, and Mercy St. Louis.

Brittany then moved on to work as a Charge Nurse at a Skilled Nursing Facility and Rehab from August 2018 to December 2019. In this role, they provided excellent care to 40 residents, performed various procedures, and managed a small team.

In 2020, Brittany worked as a Student Nurse at SSM Health, where they successfully completed clinical hours on the Medical/Surgical floor at SSM St. Mary's and SSM St. Clare.

Most recently, they held the position of Regional Nursing Director at Compass Health Network starting in December 2019. In this role, they assessed clients' mental health status, administered injections and medication, and conducted chart reviews.

Brittany Backs has a diverse education history in the field of nursing. Brittany obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2022. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Registered Nursing from St. Louis Community College between the years 2018 and 2021. In 2017 and 2018, Brittany attended the Washington School of Practical Nursing, where they received a degree in Practical Nursing and specialized in Nursing Education.

Apart from their formal education, Brittany has also pursued additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Brittany obtained the ELNEC - Critical Care certification and the Cultural Competence Certification from Western Governors University in 2022. In 2021, they became a Registered Nurse after receiving certification from the Missouri State Board of Nursing. In 2018, they obtained their Licensed Practical Nurse certification from the same board. Additionally, Brittany holds a CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Heart Association, which they obtained in 2016.
