Ty Layton

Ty Layton is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Director and Associate General Counsel at Patreon since October 2021, having previously held roles as Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel focusing on employment and litigation. In addition to responsibilities at Patreon, Ty Layton is a Charter Member of TechGC, an independent peer community for Deputy General Counsels. Prior experience includes senior associate positions at The Norton Law Firm and Vinson & Elkins, and an associate attorney role at Reed Smith LLP, where Ty Layton specialized in litigation for the Financial Industry Group. Earlier career experiences include serving as a summer associate at Reed Smith LLP, a Certified Student Counsel at Yolo County Public Defender, and a judicial extern for the Hon. Frank C. Damrell Jr. at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. Ty Layton earned a degree in Political Science, Cum Laude, from San Francisco State University and holds a law degree from the University of California, Davis - School of Law.
