In 2001, they completed the Government Vessel Operations and Chemical, Biological, and Radiological - Defense courses at Calhoon MEBA Engineering School. Jason also completed the Respirator Use and Benzene Hazards Course at Environmental Technologies, Inc. Furthermore, in 2002, they obtained certifications in EMD Marine Engine Systems from the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, Marine Refrigeration and Pump Operation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting from the Global Maritime and Transportation School at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

In 2003, Jason H. completed a course on Repair Techniques for Medium Speed Diesel Engines at the Global Maritime and Transportation School at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Subsequently, in 2004, they received CBR-D Training from the Military Sealift Command. In 2006, they completed the Introduction to ABS NS5 course at Calhoon MEBA Engineering School.

In 2007, Jason H. obtained certifications in HAZMAT/HAZCOM from the West Gulf Maritime Association and Security Training for All Other Facility Personnel from APM Terminals.

In 2010, they completed the Risk Management, the Basic Rigging Plan, Load Control Basics, the Rigging Triangle, Application of Hardware and Slings course offered by The Crosby Group.

Additionally, Jason H. holds certifications in USCG WMD 1st Responder Awareness from Jacksonville State University (2002), MSC Lubricants Training Course from the Military Sealift Command (2001), and Basic Fire Fighting, First Aid & CPR, Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities, and Personal Survival Techniques from the Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy (2015). Recently, in 2020, they obtained the Chief Engineer Motor (Unlimited) certification from the U.S. Coast Guard.
