Nicholas Ridgway has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Nicholas started their career in 2010 as an Assistant Energy Engineer at Alaris Companies LLC, where they were responsible for creating databases, analyzing data, and conducting engineering calculations. In 2010, they also worked as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at the University of Washington, where they operated and maintained the diesel electric propulsion and generating plant.
From 2012 to 2013, Nicholas worked as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at Horizon Lines, where they operated the steam propulsion and electrical generation plant. Nicholas then moved on to work as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at Keystone Shipping Co. from 2013 to 2014. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining and operating the main diesel engines and collecting lube oil samples for analysis.
Nicholas joined Patriot Contract Services, LLC. in 2014, initially as a 3rd Assistant Engineer and later as a 2nd Assistant Engineer. While in this role, they were responsible for maintaining and operating the engineering plant, including the gas turbine main engines and auxiliary boilers. Nicholas also oversaw fuel supply and water chemistry in the boilers and auxiliary water systems.
In 2016, Nicholas worked as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at APL, where they were responsible for maintaining and operating the engineering plant, specifically the gas turbine main engines. Nicholas then returned to Patriot Contract Services, LLC. in 2018 as a 1st Assistant Engineer.
Prior to their engineering roles, Nicholas served in the USMC Reserve as a Landing Support Specialist from 2008 to 2016.
Nicholas Ridgway obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering Technology from the California Maritime Academy. Nicholas pursued their undergraduate education from 2006 to 2010 at this institution.
