Pd Dr. Marcelo Cajias

PD Dr. Marcelo Cajias has diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. PD Dr. Marcelo began their career with an internship in political advice at Zentralbank Bolivia in 2007. In 2009, they joined Universität Regensburg as a Student Assistant and later took on roles as a Research Assistant and completed an internship.

From 2012 onwards, Dr. Cajias worked at PATRIZIA SE, starting as a Senior Research Manager and progressing to roles such as Sustainability Senior Manager and Associate Director Research. PD Dr. Marcelo also served as the Sustainability Associate Director for a brief period. Their most recent role at PATRIZIA SE was as the Head of Data Intelligence - Investment Strategy and Research.

In addition to their professional experience, Dr. Cajias also engaged in voluntary work for Evangelical Youth Christ Church, Straubing in 2002 and worked briefly as an editor and designer for the International Cultural Youth Exchange ICYE in 2005.

PD Dr. Marcelo Cajias has a diverse education history. PD Dr. Marcelo obtained their Abitur in Chemistry and Mathematics from the German School in 2005. In the same year, they also received an intermediate certificate in Deutsch from the Goethe Institut. Following this, they pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Regensburg, where they earned a Diploma in Economics from 2005 to 2010.

In 2008, Dr. Cajias attended the Centre for University and Academic Teaching to enhance their learning and teamwork skills, as well as their ability to work with scientific texts. PD Dr. Marcelo then continued their academic journey at the University of Regensburg, where they completed a PhD in Economics with a focus on Real Estate from 2010 to 2012.

To further enrich their knowledge and expertise, Dr. Cajias engaged in additional training programs. In 2015 and 2016, they participated in courses on Econometrics and Quantitative Economics at ZEW. Additionally, they acquired valuable skills in data science and machine learning by completing the Data Science Bootcamp in R from the Essential Data Science Training GmbH in July 2020 and the Machine Learning in R course in August 2019, also offered by Essential Data Science Training GmbH.

Currently, Dr. Cajias is working towards a Dr. rer. pol. habil. degree in Machine Learning and Real Estate Forecasting, which they are expected to complete at the University of Regensburg between 2018 and 2022.
