John O'Neill

John O'Neill has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. John started their career at Reliant Energy as an Engineer in 1999 and later moved to NRG Energy as a Project Engineer in 2003. In 2008, they joined Direct Energy as the Commercial Director, Upstream, responsible for negotiating agreements and developing business strategies. John then held the role of Director of Renewables and Market Development, where they established relationships with solar developers and led investment pursuits in utility-scale solar generation. Additionally, they served as the Director of Business Development, initiating and evaluating new opportunities for Direct Energy's upstream business. In 2014, they became an Independent Consultant before joining Pattern Energy Group as the Senior Asset Manager and later Director of Asset Management.

John O'Neill attended Isidore Newman School from 1980 to 1993. John then went on to study at Louisiana State University from 1993 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Later, from 2005 to 2008, John pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with Honors, focusing on Finance and Energy, at the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business.
