Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Michael has worked at Pattern Energy Group since 2014, taking on various roles such as Senior Director, EPC, Project Lead for HVDC Pre-Construction, Director of Pre-Construction, Construction Lead, and Senior Manager of Pre-Construction. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing and leading teams, assessing project viability, estimating costs, selecting contractors, and overseeing construction efforts. Prior to joining Pattern Energy Group, Michael worked at Finavera Wind Energy Inc as the SVP of Wind Energy. Michael also has experience at Golder Associates as a Managing Geological Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer, and at Halcrow Group and Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners as a Geotechnical Engineer and Hydrogeologist/Geochemist respectively.

Michael Thompson's education history includes the following:

- From 1995 to 1996, they studied at the University of Leeds, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) with Distinction in Engineering Geology.

- Between 1991 and 1995, they attended The University of Sheffield, where they earned a BSc in Geology and Geography.

- Additionally, from 1991 to 1994, they studied at The University of Sheffield and completed a B.Sc. Natural Environmental Science (Earth Sciences) degree, focusing on Physical Geography and Geology through a combined degree course.

- Prior to their university studies, from 1984 to 1989, they attended Broughton High School.
