Varner Seaman

Varner Seaman has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Most recently, they worked at Pattern Energy Group as the Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to that, they were the Principal at Odd Jobs, LLC, where they focused on electric sector advocacy in the Western US, with a specific emphasis on offshore wind and regionalization.

Varner also has experience at Perkins & Co, where they served as a Client Relationship Manager and Staff Tax Accountant. In addition, they worked as a Tax Season Accountant at Perkins & Co.

Their previous experience includes roles such as Government Affairs State Legislative Manager at Portland General Electric, Policy Director at Renewable Northwest Project, and Senior Manager of Government and Regulatory Affairs at EDPR NA.

Earlier in their career, Varner worked as a Labor Relations Representative at the Oregon Nurses Association and as a Director of Community Organizing, Researcher, and Organizer at SEIU. They also held the position of Organizer at the Coalition for School Funding Now!

Varner Seaman completed their high school education at East Lansing High School from 1989 to 1993 and earned a High School Diploma. Varner then went on to pursue higher education at Earlham College, where they studied Philosophy, Classics, and Economics. Varner Seaman obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Earlham College in 1997. In 2017 to 2018, they furthered their education by attending Portland State University, where they acquired a Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate with a focus on Accounting.
