Yuanyuan Zhou has had a long and successful career in the tech industry. Yuanyuan began their career in 2002 as a Tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on software reliability, data center power management, and storage systems. In 2007, they co-founded Pattern Insight, a spin-off from their research group at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In 2009, they moved to the University of California at San Diego as the Qualcomm Chair Professor, where their research spanned areas such as operating systems, computer architecture, storage systems, software reliability, and data center power management. In 2013, they co-founded Whova, a company that provides event/conference management solutions. Finally, in 2018, they became an Advisory Council Member for the Princeton University Keller Entrepreneur Center. Throughout their career, Yuanyuan Zhou has had the opportunity to work with many talented students and has been able to make an impact in the tech industry.
Yuanyuan Zhou received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics (Double major) from Peking University in 1992. Yuanyuan then attended the University of Virginia for one year in 1993. In 1994, they began their studies at Princeton University, where they earned their Ph.D in Computer Science in 2000.
