David Cavey has a diverse work experience. David currently serves as the Chief of Staff at Borderless since February 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief of Staff at Pattern starting from November 2020. David also worked as a Senior Advisor at the Parliament of Canada from December 2019 to November 2020. Before that, they worked as a Financial Planner at TD from May 2019 to December 2019, where they provided trading, advising, and financial planning services to high net worth Canadian families. David also served as an Associate Investment Advisor & Registered Representative at Canaccord Genuity - Global Capital Markets from August 2017 to May 2019, where they provided financial services to both Canadian and U.S. retail investors and businesses. David was the Chair of the Economic and Social Council at Giovani nel Mondo from August 2015 to March 2018. David also gained research experience as a CSR, Corruption, and Political Risk Research Assistant at McGill University from September 2016 to August 2017, where they collaborated with professors in developing frameworks and providing guidance to Canadian extractives companies. Before this, they held roles as the President & CEO and Vice-President Financial Affairs and CFO at IRSAM Inc. David also worked as a Program Assistant at Vancouver Coastal Health from June 2014 to April 2017 and as a Global Management Trainee Ambassador at Anheuser-Busch InBev from July 2016 to December 2016.
David Cavey attended McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree. Their major was International Management, with a concentration in International Business, and they also pursued a minor in Political Science. In 2018, they acquired several additional certifications, including an Options Trading License from IIROC (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) and a Registered Representative designation from FINRA and IIROC. In 2021, David began pursuing a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree at the Royal Military College of Canada/Collège militaire royal du Canada, focusing on a concentration in Canadian Public Policy and International Defence.
