Saul Martinez

Saul Martinez is a skilled drilling optimization engineer currently employed at Patterson-UTI since January 2022. In this role, Saul is responsible for monitoring and enhancing drilling performance across nine rigs for Matador Resources in the Delaware Basin, developing new procedures, and collaborating with customer engineers to optimize workflows. Proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel, Saul presents metrics and analyses to stakeholders and has served as the product manager for the digital rig alerting platform, REX. Prior experience includes a position as a field engineer at Downhole Chemical Solutions, where Saul reported field metrics, provided operational support, and developed workflows to improve efficiency. Additionally, as an engineering intern at Halliburton, Saul created tools for tracking downhole product performance and assisted in equipment inspections. Saul holds a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, completed in 2020.
