John Bush has a diverse work experience in the field of education. John began their career as an English Teacher at Williamson County Schools from 1998 to 2005. John then worked as an English Teacher at the Catholic Education Office, Sydney from 2005 to 2006. Following this, they joined High Resolves and served as a Program Director from 2006 to 2010. John was later promoted to Director of Learning and Development, where they were responsible for overseeing the development of educational experiences and the progress evaluation of students.

In 2014, John joined Social Ventures Australia as a Manager of Education Projects. In this role, they focused on helping socially disadvantaged Australian children succeed in school and led projects such as Education Dialogue and Growing Great Teachers. John was then promoted to Associate Director of Education in 2015, where they led grant-making and evaluation activities through the Learning Impact Fund.

Since 2017, John has been working at the Paul Ramsay Foundation. John started as the General Manager of Education and later became an Associate. Currently, they serve as the Head of School-age Learning. In this role, they lead and manages the foundation's work in this area, including strategic development, grant investments, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy. John also ensures the alignment of school-age learning with the foundation's broader mission to disrupt cycles of disadvantage.

John Bush has a comprehensive education history spanning several years. John began their educational journey in 1994, enrolling at Vanderbilt University. John pursued a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Secondary Education, English, and Cognitive Studies. John excelled academically, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1998.

Following their undergraduate studies, John decided to further expand their knowledge and enrolled in Vanderbilt University once again. From 2001 to 2005, they pursued a Master of Liberal Arts and Science degree, with a focus on American Literature.

John's thirst for knowledge persisted, and in 2014, they enrolled at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Over a four-year period, they completed a Graduate Certificate program in Social Impact, deepening their understanding of this field.

Throughout their education, John demonstrated a commitment to intellectual growth and a penchant for academia in various disciplines, ultimately affording him a well-rounded education across multiple fields of study.
