Matt Merritt is a seasoned professional in public relations with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Director of Public Relations at Paulsen since September 2021, Merritt previously held the same title at Paulsen Marketing for a brief period. Prior to this, Merritt was the Owner of 1Block Public Relations, specializing in tailored public relations strategies for Midwest businesses and organizations from May 2019 to September 2021. Merritt also directed public relations at POET, the world's largest biofuel producer, from September 2008 to April 2019, where responsibilities included crisis communications and media relations. Earlier roles included positions as Media Relations Specialist at POET and News Editor at the Argus Leader, where management of reporters and story development were key responsibilities. Merritt began the career as Managing Editor at the Austin Daily Herald and holds a BA in Journalism and English from Augustana University.
