Mark Stickells

Mark Stickells AM has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Mark currently serves as the CEO/Executive Director of the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, leading a team of experts in high-performance computing and data systems. Mark is also a member of the National Quantum Advisory Committee, contributing to the development of Australia's quantum technology sector. Additionally, they hold the position of Non-Executive Director at Science & Technology Australia, working to advance the impact of science and technology in solving global challenges. Mark is an Adjunct Research Fellow at CIC and a Member of CEOs for Gender Equity Inc., promoting gender equity in the workforce. Mark has also been involved in governance roles, serving as the Chair and Board Member of All Saints' College, a leading independent school, and as an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Perth USAsia Centre. In the past, Mark held several director positions at The University of Western Australia, including Director of Innovation and Industry Engagement and Director of the UWA Energy and Minerals Institute. Mark was also a Deputy Director of the Energy and Minerals Institute. Mark's expertise extends to collaboration and partnership building, as demonstrated through their role as a Board Member for the WA Energy Research Alliance and the Centre for Exploration Targeting.

Mark Stickells AM has an extensive education history. Mark obtained a BA Hons degree in English Literature from The University of Western Australia from 1988 to 1993. Mark then pursued an M Ed Admin degree in Tertiary Education Management from Charles Sturt University from 1994 to 1996. In 2001, they attended Curtin University and earned an MBA degree. In the same year, they also completed the Company Directors Diploma at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mark further enhanced their expertise in corporate governance by obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance from Chartered Secretaries Australia from 2006 to 2007. Later, from 2010 to 2014, they studied Energy and Resource Management at UCL, earning a Graduate Diploma. Additionally, they attained certifications in "Leadership in an Exponentially Changing World" from MIT Sloan School of Management, and "Noongar Language and Culture" from Curtin University in 2020.
